唐僧到朱紫国金殿倒换关文。悟空哄八戒到街前，见招医黄榜，遂揭下暗塞入八戒怀中，悄悄离去。八戒甚窘，只得带护榜官员们到会馆请师兄解围。悟空上殿，悬丝诊脉，用奇药医好国王疾病，并询知三年前国王的金圣娘娘被麒麟山赛太岁接去。于是寻至妖洞，几经周折，在金圣娘娘协助下，盗得妖王施放火、烟、砂的三个紫金宝铃，救出金圣娘娘。娘娘因有紫阳真人所赐护身棕衣，三年来才得保全自身。观音菩萨前来，收走了失走的坐骑——化坐妖王的金毛兽，一场风波才告了结。
