唐僧独自化斋，错入七个蜘蛛精洞中，欲逃不能，被蛛丝缠住。悟空前去救援，见蛛女们去濯垢泉洗澡，不便下手打斗，只作法取走蛛女纱衣。八戒闻讯，赶至泉中，与蛛女们水中战斗，不料也被蛛女用丝缠住。蛛女们明小妖抗抬唐僧，到黄花观师兄家去蒸食。悟空等打死小妖，救下师父。师徒们前行，来到黄花观。观主正是蛛女们的道兄多目怪。他用毒茶加害唐僧师徒，被悟空识破。打斗中，多目怪施放金光，罩住悟空。悟空变作穿山甲，才得遁去。后受观音指点，悟空去紫云山千花洞，请来黎山老母，才收伏多目怪——蜈蚣精及众蛛女。
