Chia-ming meets Ma Yung and persuades him to stop his business to avoid further conflicts between himself and Ma Yung. Ma Yung is troubled by his conflicting thoughts. Chia-ming meets Hsiao-ya by chance. The two of them tell each other the happenings since they left each other. Chia-ming feels that he still has a chance with Hsiao-ya and is very happy. Hsiao-ya still remembers the past and refuses to forgive Yung-slang, asking him to leave. She blames Chia-ming for meddling in other people's business.
